Book Description

Satan was created an angel in God’s presence (Neh. 9.6). Since angels never experience the sufferings or death people experience, God warned them they would go to hell if they ever committed their unforgivable sin of departing their domains (Jude 6; 2 Pet. 2.4-5). Yet, envious of God, the devil left his domain to tempt humanity (including Christ) to worship and serve him as their god (Matt. 4.1-11; Luke 4.1-12; 2 Cor. 4.3-4; Rev. 13.3-4). Consequently, Christ will sentence Satan (including his angelic and unrepentant human followers) to hell in the Judgment Day (Matt. 25.41; Rev. 20.10). However, he tries to prevent Jesus’ coming in judgment upon him by trying to keep God’s wish for all to come to repentance alive by encouraging all to keep sinning (2 Pet. 3.9). He uses the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life to tempt people to sin (1 John 2.16). Thus, Satan has appointed himself the persecuting prosecutor of God and His people accusing them also of sin in order to avoid the “heat of hell” waiting him (Ps. 109.6; Zech. 3.1-2; Rev. 12.10). Erroneously, he probably thinks God cannot send him to hell anymore than people for their sins. For that reason, this book is suitable for individual and/or group study.
